Several of my family members were in healthcare, which intrigued and inspired me to follow in their footsteps. \n Another motivator for pursuing a career in medicine: My grandmother dealt with chronic illnesses, and she often talked about the need for more compassionate and well-educated doctors. When she passed away, it inspired me to further my career and display the characteristics she thought a provider should have. \n My approach to healthcare is a combination of compassion, education and old-fashioned TLC. I believe caring for a person should involve a holistic approach. I take all aspects of my patients' lives into consideration when providing care for them and involve my patients in their plan of care to ensure their health goals are met. \n I serve on the board of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). \n I am married and have four beautiful children - three girls and one boy. My oldest daughter and I like to watch cooking shows and try to recreate the meals. Singing is one of my passions, and I work with youth to help develop their love for music.
