Philip W. Ponder, MD, FACOG, was led to the field of obstetrics and gynecology after his first day of clinical rotations when he witnessed his first caesarian section. He knew then that was what he wanted to do. In the two decades he has been practicing medicine, Dr. Ponder has found he enjoys many other aspects of his specialty as well. He enjoys enjoy routine obstetrics, delivering babies and gynecologic surgery, particularly robotic surgery. Away from the office, Dr. Ponder enjoys spending time with his wife, Carolyn, who is a nurse practitioner in women's health, and his son and daughter. He enjoys going to sporting events with his son, especially college football. He also enjoys playing tennis and running with his daughter.
