Math and science were always my favorite subjects in school. From an early age, I knew I wanted a career involving one of these fields. I also knew I wanted to work with people. Combining those two wants is what led me to medicine, a decision that still keeps me happy and fulfilled to this day. \n It is an honor to partner with families and help kids grow up as healthy as possible. I want to be here to answer questions from parents when they first start their parenting journeys, and eventually from my patients themselves as they start to participate in their own care. I consider my role as a trusted adviser to be one of the biggest privileges a parent can give; choosing who cares for children is a big decision, and one I do not take for granted. \n My husband, Nic, and I have been married since 2000. We have two grown kids who we see whenever we can. We also like taking long walks with our dogs, Bo and Willie. When I get time to myself, I enjoy cooking and yoga. I also love teaching Sunday School at our church, and love cheering for Appalachian State!
