My career in nursing can be traced back to my childhood, when my interest in science and helping others led me to volunteer for a school nurse. \n Women's health emerged as my calling because I enjoy empowering women. My special interests are breastfeeding support, pregnancy and working with adolescents. I have been going into Forsyth County middle schools as a volunteer instructor since 2006 to help educate students about sexually transmitted diseases, personal health and contraception. \n My best friend and I married in 1991. We have a wonderful son, who now lives with his wife in Texas, where both practice law. I have two small poodles that unconditionally love on me every day. I am very active in my church, where I help care for children and direct the Christmas play.
